Examination And Promotions

Regular periodical tests will be held in addition to the May and December Unit Tests and terminal exams in September and March. Promotions will depend on these tests and examinations. Children will have regular weekly tests.
Pupils absent from an examination for any reason are not re-examined, and those absent from an examination without valid, grave and genuine reasons will be considered as having failed. In case of illness, a doctor’s certificate will have to be produced.
Wilful breaking of any of the regulations for the conduct of examination is punishable with expulsion from the examination or, if subsequently discovered, with cancellation of the paper.
No candidate will be admitted to any of the examinations unless all school dues have been paid in full.

The students are strictly forbidden to borrow any writing stationery articles from other students in the examination hall.

Copying, consulting and carrying answer slips to the examination hall will be liable to punishment such as detention in the same class or expulsion from school.

Applications for the verification of marks may be considered in special cases at the discretion of the Principal.

The year’s work will be taken into account for drawing, music, craft, dance and physical education. No separate examination will be held in these subjects at the end of each term. Grades will be awarded for these subjects.

Eligibility for Promotion :

  • No student is generally eligible to appear at the Second Terminal Examination unless she/he has attendance of at least 85% of the actual teaching / working days in a session as per the school calendar.
  • In genuine cases the Principal may, however, condone the shortage in attendance not exceeding 10% of the actual teaching/working days of a session.
  • In order to be promoted to the next class a student should score 40% marks in each subject in all the exams.
Promotion to a higher class also depends on :

  • Regularity in attendance.
  • Regularity and quality of day to day participation in class
  • Opinion of teachers concerned
  • Written work and projects assigned by the subject teachers.
  • Internal or sessional marks in each subject.
Results declared at the end of the year are final in all cases and will not be reconsidered.
A student failing twice in the same class will have to discontinue his/her studies at the school.
Parents are required to sign the progress report cards of their wards each time they come for the parent-teacher meet.
